With top-quality gear at your disposal, my recording techniques are meticulously crafted to ensure a productive recording experience (My recording career began with cutting & editing tape). As a skilled and multi-tasking recording engineer, I am dedicated to bringing your creative vision to life while maximizing our time together. 

I have a nice selection of mics, including a Shure KSM 44, which I use for vocals, acoustic instruments, and a few AKGs that are my most "go-to" mics. I recently acquired a new SE Electronics kick drum mic and a Shure KS7B, broadcaster microphone.

MKll studio monitors, Tascam Model 12 mixer/interface, Universal Audio, LA-610 preamp/compressor (This delivers a whole lot of warmth to vocals and acoustic instruments), great headphones, plenty of outboard gear and pedals, your choice of guitars, basses, MIDI controllers,  Yamaha P125 88 key keyboard, tons off of inspiring sounding plug-ins, the Steven Slate mixing system-We can mix your music to fit any environment: SUV, audiophile room, world-renowned studios, cell phones, ear pods...

I can comfortably fit a drummer, keyboard player, a guitarist, and a bassist. Plus me. If you'd like, I can lay down guitar, bass or keyboard tracks while you record. I am able to functionally isolate string instruments and vocalists.

These were designed and constructed by three prominent Nashville sound engineers. My studio is treated with state-of-the-art absorption and diffusion panels. The room sounds like a really nice living room-super quiet, relaxed, and comfortable.

"The "Trinity"

In the front is my Guild S-300 electric guitar (re-fretted in 2021). I vividly remember In 1978, my dad taking me to El Rey Music in Chicago to buy this for me. It was $610.00 and the only way he would get it is if I could play an F# barre chord perfectly on the very first try. This was my first electric guitar and to this day, the only one I seriously use.

On the left is my 30 year-old Taylor Model 710 acoustic. This guitar has been with me throughout my entire professional career. It's been at the center of my faith the whole time.

On the right is my Takamine classical guitar. I bought it in 1985-two months before my grandmother passed away. It was my sole acoustic guitar for the first nine years of my college and professional career. Thank you "Busia."​​​
